  1. ILR-Level Self-Assessment Check List
    A quick self-reflection tool designed to help learners estimate where they operate most consistently across ILR skills. This checklist helps learners orient themselves and does not replace professional assessment.

  2. Reading Assessment Packets
    FLO Topic-Based Reading Assessment — L2 Benchmark. Reading Assessment 1 includes 15 SCH/TCH rotating reading passages, 45 DLPT5-style multiple-choice questions, a 90-minute time limit, automatic scoring, shuffled answer choices, and post-submission answer keys with justifications. A final score of 70 or above is required to pass L2.

  3. Listening Assessment Packets
    Topic-Based Listening Assessments — L2 Benchmark. Each packet includes 18 listening passages, DLPT5-style multiple-choice questions, a 90-minute time limit, automatic scoring, shuffled answer choices, pass/fail reporting, and post-submission answer keys with justifications and scripts. A final score of 85 or above is required to pass L2.

  4. The Online Diagnostic Assessment (ODA) – FREE
    Sign up to take a listening and/or reading assessment to determine your overall ILR proficiency level. You’ll receive a detailed portfolio report analyzing your strengths and weaknesses, along with recommended GLOSS materials for improvement. All assessment questions are open-ended and content-based. Each assessment may take 1–3 hours, depending on the level you begin with (Level 1 to Level 3).

    Select Chinese and your desired ILR level in the sidebar to access a curated collection of authentic materials for listening and reading comprehension assessment. Each lesson includes multiple-choice questions, with an answer key and justification provided at the end of the exercise.
